The Karuna Yoga Community's first project is underway in Shravasti, India. We are building a school there, and your help is needed.

Below you can see photos of the current school, and that of the land that we have acquired to build a new one.

We appreciate any financial help that you are able to provide. Thank you for your generosity.

FAQs:

1. Is the school currently in operation?

Yes, as shown in the pictures, those children are still going to the government school in Shravasti, India. That school will remain open even after our school (which will not be a government school) is built.   The school we are building will be about 1 kilometer from there.

2. How many students does it serve now?

500 to 700 students go to the government school.

3. How many students will it serve upon completion?

Our school will provide a very high quality education to about

500 students.

4. Assuming funds are generated, when is the completion date?

If we get enough funds, the school will be complete in about

two years.

5. What if the budget is not reached? Will the construction halt? What will happen to the raised funds?

If the budget is not reached, it simply means the completion date

will be delayed. This project will not halt, because we are committed to its completion.  It is as if we are building a house for living; whatever happens, we must find a way to continue and finish as soon as we can. Any funds raised will simply continue to be applied so that the school will be available at the earliest possible date.

6. What is the anticipated total budget?

The total project is about INR 30000000 (Indian Currency)

(approx. $570,000 U.S. dollars)

7. How much is the sponsorship of one room?

For one room sponsorship the cost is about INR 350000

(approx. $6,620 U.S. dollars)
